Since 1985, GIPE has been present through every transformation of the real estate market in Spain.
We were pioneers in creating a code of ethics and in placing continuous training at the heart of the real estate agents association's progress.
Today we continue to grow, connecting a new generation of agents, advisors and companies who share the same vision: that a prepared and united sector builds trust and value for everyone.
1985
A purpose-driven origin.
The beginning of a new way of practising.
GIPE was founded in Málaga with an idea ahead of its time: to professionalise a sector without regulation or common standards. From the outset it established ethics, training and legal security as the pillars of the profession.
1986
The national leap.
From Málaga to all of Spain.
Just one year later it gained legal status and recognition across Spain. GIPE began representing the profession before public administrations and bodies.
1990
Growth, training and a voice in Europe.
Growth, training and a voice in Europe.
The association organised large-scale congresses, promoted university courses, opened delegations and launched a multilingual magazine. It also participated in the creation of CEI (now CEPI), strengthening its international presence.
1991
Backing from the Constitutional Court.
A ruling that strengthens the profession.
The Constitutional Court recognised the specific role of the real estate manager against accusations of professional intrusion. The ruling represented a historic legal endorsement, consolidating the legitimacy and professional scope of those who practise with rigour.
2010
First regional agents register.
Real support for members.
With mandatory registration in Catalonia, GIPE validated accreditations, updated documentation and provided specialist advice to help members adapt to the new regulations.
2022
A new chapter.
More training, more services, more professionalisation.
GIPE drove genuine modernisation: strengthened continuous training, expanded agreements, digitalised processes and put member support back at the centre.
2023
Evolution with roots.
Renewed headquarters and a bilingual focus.
The Málaga headquarters was updated with a training and coworking space. GIPE consolidated its bilingual activity across courses, materials and communications.
2025
A network with an international voice.
European MMCEPI certification, skills recognition and quality.
The association promoted the MMCEPI certification for its members and strengthened its international presence through representation at CEPI.

When was GIPE founded and what is its history?
GIPE was founded in 1985 with the aim of professionalising the real estate sector in Spain. Over more than 40 years we have trained over 3,700 professionals, driven the creation of our own code of ethics and consolidated a network of real estate agents present in more than 32 Spanish cities.
What is CEPI and what is its relationship with GIPE?
CEPI is the European Council of Real Estate Professions, headquartered in Brussels, which brings together real estate associations from 25 countries. GIPE is an active member of CEPI, which allows our members to obtain the MMCEPI certification and be recognised as real estate experts at a European level.
Does GIPE have official recognition in Spain?
