Letter from the President of GIPE

Dear associates,

I want to express my deep gratitude for the trust you have placed in me by electing me as the president of our association GIPE. It is both an honor and a challenge that I embrace with great commitment. I pledge to continue the positive trajectory set over the past year alongside the board of directors, advancing the association’s renewal project.

In our new Board of Directors, we have highly valued members, some of whom continue their roles, such as Mr. Christofer Fogelberg now serving as Vice President; Mr. Daniel Holmquist as Secretary; and Mr. Patrick Galiano, who remains as Treasurer. We also welcome two new members: Mr. Leandro Negre, as a board member, who will also serve as a liaison in Catalonia, and Mr. Kevin Ceruleo, as a board member and liaison in the Alicante/Valencia area.

It is crucial for me to thank the outgoing president, Mr. Miguel Garrido, who has led the association for the past 12 years, lifting GIPE from the ashes as it was on the brink of sinking when Mr. Antonio Reina, the founder and president since the association’s inception, passed away. Mr. Miguel Garrido is appointed Honorary Member of GIPE. I also extend my gratitude to the outgoing board member, Ms. Doris Sprenger, who was always deeply involved with GIPE for her constant support and contributions. Ms. Doris is also appointed Honorary Member of GIPE.

I encourage you to participate more actively in the association by sharing your ideas and concerns for its improvement. All will be considered attentively and, if appropriate, implemented for the benefit of GIPE and its members. Your involvement and attendance (in person or via zoom) to the talks and events we organize at the headquarters will be highly valued too.
